J acksonville is anchored by beautiful, historic buildings. The Kubli House, built in 1860 and on the National Register of Historic Places, is one of a handful of stately family homes in town. Named for Swiss immigrant and town pioneer Kaspar Kubli, 305 S. Oregon Street has survived fire, flood and some pretty unattractive remodels.
In 2020, as a result of chance meetings and coincidence, current owners Brian and Kathleen Dunn discovered Jacksonville, Oregon. So charmed by the historic small town, they surprised themselves and relocated here. The Kubli House had been on and off the market for seven years. If you believe in real estate kismet, this place was definitely waiting for them. Brian, formerly a civil engineer, ditched his level and square and restored this crooked old house from the foundation to the chimney tops. Kathleen, the accidental innkeeper, designed, decorated and now manages the property.
Today Kubli Haus operates as a sleek five suite boutique hotel.
